I was recently asked about who my dream cast for a movie would be and it really got me thinking. So for today’s post I’m going to list 5 actors and actresses who I would put in a movie if I could. Hope you all enjoy.
Al Pacino:
He has been one of my cinematic idols for years and is super talented. He may have not been in much recently, but his work still stands up so well. To have an actor like him on a set really raises the bar in terms of performances.
Judi Dench:
A national treasure of talent and wit, Judi Dench is a force to be reckoned with. With her iconic voice giving life to the words she speaks and a glint in her eye, Dench never fails to amaze me.
Kevin Bacon:
This man literally lights up the screen with his presence and versatility. From affable and charming to frightening and chilling, Bacon is an actor I hugely admire and would be happy to have in a cast.
Monica Bellucci:
The beautiful and talented Monica Bellucci has that ability to say so much without words and it really grips from the movies I’ve seen her in. None of her work ever feels forced or histrionic, it’s very calm but speaks volumes about the characters in the most expressive way.
Natalie Portman:
An intelligent performer of depth, Natalie Portman exudes a sense of confidence and maturity that is hard to resist. She takes risks in her work and is able to burrow into the character’s head with acute observations. It would be an honor to have Miss Portman in a movie.
So what does everyone think of my dream movie cast?
Michael Fassbender……..best actor on the planet!
Julieanne Moore, Michael Shannon, Denzel Washington, Rosamund Pike!!

Now that’s a hugely talented cast.

I forgot Leo DiCaprio………………..what a talent!

That’s an interesting selection, V. What sort of film could you see them appearing in together, I wonder? (As long as Bacon was serious, he’s at his best without the crazy smile…)
Best wishes, Pete.

I think I’d have them in a serious drama of secrets and deception.

Time to get writing that screenplay mate!

I would have a British comedy film featuring Helen Mirren, Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Sean Connery and John Cleese. It would be a Hangover-style film mixed in with some British humour.*

Now that’s a stellar cast of greats. And I wouldn’t dream of stealing an idea from a great blogger.

Don’t worry, I’ll let you have a cameo appearance in the film. 🙂

Natalie Portman is one of my favourite actors. She is so talented and so beautiful.
So who would you like to play you Vinnie, in your life story? 😉

Natalie Portman always delivers in her movies. I would have either Chris Hemsworth or Matt Bomer to play me in a movie, it would make me look more handsome than how I look, hehe.

Chris Hemsworth is amazing, he is vegan so I love him !!!

And he’s a man crush of mine.

It is a great cast. What would make this list a little more interesting is if you came up with an idea for what type of movie it’d be and who you’d want to direct.

Well I thought about it being a drama. As for director, I may do something like that for a future post, thanks for the comment.

Awesome list Vinnie, that would be one hell of a movie 🙂
Kevin Bacon is great, I’d choose him too 🙂
I KNEW you’d have Monica Belluci, I knew it before I even saw her!!! #brother

Haha, can’t beat a bit of the Bacon. Bellucci would be amazing and I’m just in awe of her beauty.

She’s very, very beautiful 🙂
Always had a soft spot for Kevin Bacon. He’s been married to his wife for a ridiculously long time too, 30 years or something. Stuff like that makes me like him even more 🙂

Oh yeah, he’s married to Kyra Sedgwick, who is also really talented. A definite power couple of talent there.

So, you know what I said about how creative you are Vinnie? Well, I’m going to repeat that. What a fabulous idea! I love your list even if it doesn’t have Matthew Bomer on it! 🤔 I’ve loved Kevin Bacon since I first saw Footloose so many years ago. He really can play any role. Have you seen him as the tortured Ryan Hardy in The Following? The 3rd and last season wasn’t very good, but the first two were brilliant!

You flatter me so Kim. I haven’t seen The Following yet, but it looks extremely intriguing. Sorry for the lack of Bomer, anyway are you gonna do that bum post for Christmas that we discussed?

‘Tis true! I really think you’d like The Following, at least the first two seasons. I believe Eric just started it. I’m going to try to do that post. 🙂

I look forward to it, hope Bomer gets featured.

I recently wrote a story styled after the Hammer Films movie, Hound of the Baskervilles, called ‘Curse of the Crimson Queen’. When writing, I pictured all the characters being played by famous Hammer actors from the late 60’s early 70’s, which included Peter Cushing, Veronica Carlson, Michael Ogilvy, David Warner and Ingrid Pitt. It really helped me write this Jack the Ripper style story, set in the late 1800’s. It is yet unpublished but I may look into self releasing it because it’s longer than a short story, perhaps Novella length 🙂

It sounds amazing, I look forward to seeing if you publish it. And if you do publish, I’ll definitely read it.

I got my first publishing deal that I’m going to announce later this month in a post. I’m going to see if the company is interested in releasing some of my other work. I have to have patience though, don’t want to blow it 🙂

Okay. Pacino, married to Bellucci, is having an affair with Portman. Her husband, Bacon, finds out and is about to confront Pacino when Dench stops him.
Portman is a spy (Dench being the head of her department) and Bellucci is suspected of terrorist involvement. Portman is the only way to get close enough to Monica’s personal life to uncover key intel. Pacino really does fall in love with Portman but Natalie, despite he carnal involvement, loves Kevin.
Now Kevin knowing what his wife is doing must pretend he has no clue. It puts a terrible strain on him and their marriage. Portman is torn with guilt and shame betraying Kevin’s love.
Eventually, Bellucci confronts Portman revealing she’ll have Kevin killed if Natalie doesn’t assist in Dench’s death. Bellucci brings a convincing tale of revenge using the terrorist intel to lure an agent for this very purpose.
In reality, it is a plot to remove Dench and have her replaced with a hand-picked double agent. Portman honestly believes the revenge motive and, angry at Dench for this assignment and the risk to Kevin’s life, decides…

Wow, now I like the sound of that. Love the spy angle.

What a fab idea for a post! Bellucci, Dench and Pacino would be in mine. I’d have to have Di Caprio in there. And Mandy Moore. She needs to do at least really really good movie in her career.

A great group of actors Vinnie!
5 other favorites for me are Edward Norton, The late Phillip Seymour Hofmann, Meryl Street who can do anything, Ryan Gosling who is extraordinary and the truly great Kevin Spacey.

hehe yeah it is hard to narrow it down to five! I like your inclusion of Judi Dench too, I haven’t seen her in much but what I have seen has just been total expertise

Thanks Mark. I for one always find Bellucci underrated because of her beauty, and that’s a shame because I’ve seen her deliver some great performances.

VIVA LA FRANCE!!

In fact I like it so much, would you mind if I made a post of my own on this? I would link back to this feature of course! I think what I’d do is come up with a fake movie title and then cast it. I’d give u the credit on the idea, obviously. 🙂
