I’ve recently been asking myself the same question. And as all of you loyal followers are so great with feedback, I thought I’d ask you. Do you like my movie reviews and analysis better? Or is it my Television thoughts that captures your interest? Or do you like them both equally? I’m just asking as I want to know your opinions and I know I can trust you all. And plus I want to review things I know you’ll enjoy reading about.
Also, in the future I will continue with writing both movie and television reviews, so no need to worry there. So whatever your opinion is please give it. Is there a specific show you think I’d enjoy watching? Or a specific movie that you think would catch my eye?

They are both of a very high standard V. The only issue I have with the TV reviews is that I have rarely seen (or will ever see) the programmes featured; but that is just an age thing, and not having satellite, or Netflix. Luckily, I have seen (or want to see) most of the films you review, so they work better for me in that respect.
Cheers mate. Pete.

Personally, I’m more of a movie person. Having said that, TV material doesn’t turn me off either. I tink overall I prefer the self contained nature of cinema.

TV shows take so long to review though. If I have to review a film, I know it will take me three hours (two to watch the movie, another to write it), but TV shows can take weeks to finish. Also, it can be pretty hard to condense everything you want to talk about into a single review. Yet they are more interesting. Happy to read whatever you come up with 🙂

Great to hear from you Luke. I know what you mean, though I do think with TV reviews, I can be more in-depth and descriptive.

I’ve found that smaller TV shows benefit from an article that tries to sum up all of its best bits, like my Rick and Morty post for instance. Where as Better Call Saul had far more coverage because more people were watching it at the time, so I’d say for the big shows I find an episode breakdown works well. Better Call Saul is the only show I’ve done that way but I found I looked forward to the next episode more when I knew I’d be writing about it the day after, it’s also a great way to stick to a deadline. But that’s just the way I do things, I personally enjoy everything you put up so keep up the good work dude.

That’s an easy one. I got rid of cable TV years ago as was starting to understand why people blast their TVs to smithereens with shotguns ( ……I don’t have a shotgun…….).
I always like movie reviews, and maybe you’d enjoy reviewing some of the Netflix shows like The Fall with Gillian Anderson, Frankie & Grace, and Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Always been a huge fan of anything you write. I guess if (really) pushed I’d choose films, but only because a lot of the shows you do have a lot of series and I’m not always a huge fan of the show.

I find this an interesting discussion because I was covering some TV on my site and then I spun it off into its own site where we cover shows episode by episode with a season wrap-up when it’s done. It’s interesting because the single episode analysis tends to benefit most when it’s about the current shows, while older shows tend to gain more interest in full season reviews or like a top 10 list. Where films will always have interest from someone. I do think that TV is a very different beast than film because nostalgia TV has its place, but it’s much different than classic film analysis. While current TV has gotten a lot better, but the discussion still tends to fade away very quickly for the next hot season aside from those rare cases of cult shows like Buffy, Firefly, or Star Trek.

TV reviews are okay, I just always felt that a TV review works better if you just do the entire season as a whole rather than the weekly episodes. Regardless, I enjoy reading them all, man!

I rarely watch TV so I’m more in tune with your film reviews. I really enjoy how you break them down. This is a place where I can turn to and know what kinds of things are going to be discussed, and I’m a fan of consistency. Great post V!

This +1. I don’t actually have TV reception where I live, so any TV I wanted to watch I’d have to download and I can’t be buggered with all that. I did love Fargo, though I prefer your movie reviews also, I always seem to read about another one I had never heard of each time I come here!!
