This second entry to my new series is on the talented and pretty amazing Hugh Jackman. Adept at action and spreading his dramatic muscles, Jackman has become one of the most likeable stars out there. And as a person, he seems to be quite down to Earth and self-effacing. In an age where fame can go to the mind of many, it’s refreshing to see someone famous who still can be fun and not full of themselves. For me, I like seeing Hugh Jackman on screen because he actually looks like he’s having fun. So which performance from this great guy is your personal favourite?
What Is Your Favourite Hugh Jackman Performance?

My all time favourites will always be the Fountain. For some reason I think romantic roles suit him better than action based ones. What about you?

It’s a tough one, but his work as Wolverine is pretty special. I must give The Fountain a watch.

Well, I did not even have to think about this one. Yes his role as Wolverine was amazing, but his best performance for me was in Prisoners. The role of the distraught father was so heartbreaking at times, that it literally took my breath away. Then again, that entire movie was utterly fantastic. So yeah, without a doubt that is my favorite Hugh Jackman performance 😊

Prisoners is on my watch list. I like seeing him in dramatic roles, he really goes for it with an intensity.

Well, trust me on this: that role is about as intense as it can get. Hope you will enjoy the movie when you get around to it, but I would be surprised if you did not 😊 Like this new feature by the way, just to let you know 😀

It’s yet another movie going on my ever growing watch list. I trust your judgement though. Appreciate the compliments on the feature, I think it’s a great one to start a conversation and it also introduces me to some films by some of my favourite stars that I might have missed.

My favorite is definitely Logan. I’d say this one is one of my favorite performances of all time, I just saw the movie again and it’s incredible and he just gave it his everything. It’s such a fantastic performance.
But he is almost always good – in spite of for me hitting some false notes in Prisoners and Scoop. His work in The Prestige is my second favorite and then his heartbreaking performance in the Fountain

I’m definitely excited to check Logan out. He’s a great actor, loved The Prestige. And you’re the second person to recommend The Fountain so it must be good. I knew you’d love the post.

It’s not an easy movie and it’s definitely not for everyone, it’s very heavy and quite surreal. But the message of the film is I think something everyone could find moving and Jackman’s performance and amazing score by Clint Mansell is enough to make it worth seeing 🙂

Me too. I’m fascinated by magic, even though I know that it’s illusion. One friend is excellent in magic. He is a member of the Magic Castle in Hollywood. He invited us to tour the castle and watched different magic shows. At the end, he had a private room to show just to us his magic. It was not closed door, and drew a big crowd. He played one on me to switch the coins. I knew he distracted me and switched, but I didn’t see it. He was fast.

It’s funny, I don’t tend to think of Hugh Jackman in that What’s His Best Role way. He’s just always there, and usually decent. So, um, Wolverine? Sure, any of those. I liked the one in Japan when he’s protecting the girl from the guy who’s trying to steal his regeneration powers.

I have to be honest, Vinnie, I’ve never been a fan of Jackman. He’s one of those actors that I don’t take to. It’s not that he’s bad but he just doesn’t hold my interest. If I had to choose, I’d say he was pretty good in Prisoners.

I loved Hugh Jackman in “Kate & Leopold” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. Even though I consider his strongest performance ever in Les Miserables, my favourite ever performance of his is definitely in the Fountain. As people above, I also recommend watching this film. Although I dislike Darren Aronofsky’s big budget productions, Aronofsky can pull of some good films on tight budgets and the Fountain is an example.
