I’m not ashamed to admit to being a fan of Girls Aloud. What can I say? I am a sucker for catchy pop tunes. Inspiration for this post came about when one of their songs was played in the radio and I remembered when it first was released. It had me thinking, I really miss Girls Aloud. They had such infectious songs, slightly zany lyrics and sex appeal. They boasted the fun factor that was hard to resist and there is no denying that their music wasn’t catchy as hell. I know they split up a few years back, but their music still remains evergreen. To bathe in the glory of the good days, here are some of their best songs.
I don’t own any of their records, but as pop groups go, they were very good, as well as nice to look at!
Cheers, Pete.

Oh no, I fear Sound of the Underground is going to be in my head all day now! 😂 Love this post, Girls Aloud were a brilliant group, I still enjoy their music. I actually listen to it a lot since my manager always puts their first ever album on at work!

It’s a really catchy song. Their music always had that way of getting in your head and not letting go. Thanks for responding to this post.

Never heard this group before I found Sarah Harding’s short haircut in a hairstyle magazine. I pointed at the photo and said to my stylist – “Make me look like that!” (Of course, to look like that I’d need a time machine, not a haircut…)

I’d say your hair from your profile picture is great and your hair has a definite look of Sarah.

That’s a good one. Biology is one of my favourite, the way that it’s really three songs in one is cool.

The 60s vibe to that song is pretty cool. And I love the style of that music video.

I liked that my enthusiasm came through. They were around for years especially as I went from primary to secondary school.

I think at the time when they were first ‘created’ I expected them to be seriously crap, but the first single-video showed that they were actually way better than I would have imagined

A lot of bands created through reality tv are usually pretty bad, but these girls were the big exception.

Saw them alive when they were a support act for Coldplay. Was great. I wasn’t near enough to the front to ask any of them out though. They really produced superb songs. Still listen to them regularly. And has there been a more gorgeous girl group?
