Anyone who has read my blog for a long time will notice that I like movies and television shows with strong female characters. This post I will talk about why. The main reason I seem to respond to strong women in movies and television is due to my upbringing. My mother is a particularly strong woman who has always had an influence on me. Just watching her and the way she would do anything for me, my brother and my father was inspiring. My mum is a strong woman who I greatly admire for her courage, ability to imbue me with a sense of chivalry and emotional strength. And then there is my Grandmother, who is still alive and kicking. She instilled me with a respect and honesty that continues through today. So whenever I see a strong female character who won’t take no bull, I am reminded of my mother and grandma. So this post is a real tribute to these wonderful women in my life, who have shaped my existence. Hail all the inspiring women out there, you all rule.

I liked the new smart comedies with Melissa Mccarthy in “Spy” and “Chef” where Sofia Vergara was comforting, quiet and businesslike. 🙂

I’d have to agree here. Strong are to be admired, not feared. My wife is a strong as they come, and I love that about her. You’re right, strong women rock!

I’m older, as you know, so I’m going with Helen Mirren. She’s always a powerful performer, and still pretty hot at 70 years of age. At least from where I’m sitting!
And of course, Mums are just great. I miss mine every day.
Best wishes, Pete.

I love Helen Mirren, she’s always such presence on screen and I admire the way she doesn’t choose the easy option with roles.

I immediately thought about Buffy when i read the tittle. That is my favorite tv show of all time so when i saw Buffy Summer’s at the end I was very happy. I love anything with a strong yet flawed women I also love evil women and often they are the same. There’s just something about a strong woman that just turns me on every time. Evil women turn me on even more though

Looking through the index you have reviewed many of my favorite films and tv shows. Kill bill is one of them obviously feeding my strong bad ass women craving. When I got together with my partner one of our biggest disagreements was his inability to like Buffy or even give it a real shot which infuriated me as well as made me respect him a little less
