With the upcoming release of Skyfall, I thought I do another post about another aspect of the enduring Bond series. The question now is who is your favourite villain? In his lengthy spying career, Bond has come up against some of the most diabolical masterminds that the screen has ever known. So have a think which villain is the one who you remember most or which leaves an indelible mark after the credits have finished rolling?

The picture says it all, surely it is Blofeld? Without doubt has left the biggest mark on the series. Except him though; it would be a toss up between Red Grant and Xenia Onatopp.

Red Grant from “From Russia With Love”. Calm, cool, efficient, dangerous. The only villain who truly felt like Bond’s equal.

It’s got to be between Goldfinger and Dr. No. They’re the coolest villains in my opinion.

Jaws because The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker were the first Bond films I saw when I was a kid.

My top 3:
1. Jaws (Richard Kiel) from “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “Moonraker”
2. Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) from “The World Is Not Enough”
3. Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) from “A View to a Kill”
Yes, I know, I chose probably the corniest villains in the entire franchise…

My favorite has to be Elliot Carver from “Tomorrow Never Dies”. I like him because he’s manipulating countries on a grand scale. And you gotta love his line “The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.” SO GOOD. I love that movie.

I would say it would have to be Goldfinger for Villain, followed by Jaws for henchman. Both are classics.

Le Chiffre from “Casino Royale”. He was vulnerable and desperate, and that can make for an intriguing adversary; he relied on his smarts and manipulation rather than brute strength. He is the only villain in the Bond franchise to kill Bond. And Madds Mikkelson was phenomenal in the role. He was a very clever, and methodical mastermind which is much more interesting than some over-the-top criminal.

Le Chiffre is pretty high up on my list as well. You’re right he does make for an interesting adversary.

Hello Vinnieh, I like the villain that they have in Casino Royale, the mathematician guy who plays brilliant poker. I love his acting. He did a tremendous job, I think. 🙂

This is always a tough one for me, the same goes with the Bond girls. In terms of villains: Jaws (of course!!), Le Chiffre (badass), and Silva (Javier Bardem was mental in that movie, stunning entrance monologue).
