After reading a post over at Zoe’s featuring images of actors in suits for the female population to drool over, it gave me the idea to do a post about ladies in suits for the guys out there. A woman in a suit can be something of immense beauty and sexuality, and so without further ado, here are images of some stunning actresses rocking a suit.

Angelina Jolie Suit

First we have Angelina Jolie, showcasing her toned body with edge and sex appeal.

Monica Bellucci Suit

Italian siren Monica Bellucci is a vision of sophistication and earthy sexuality in this number.

Cate Blanchett SuitRegal Cate Blanchett shows us her statuesque beauty and commanding persona.

Charlize Theron Suit

Stunner Charlize Theron brings carefree but sexy strength to this suit with a nonchalant pose and steely eyes.

Emma Watson Suit

The delightful Emma Watson brings some old-school glamour to this, with just a hint of sexiness beneath it.

Milla Jovovich Suit

Milla Jovovich is a seductive sex kitten in this revealing suit, that puts the sex appeal into suits.

Penelope Cruz SuitThe sultry beauty of Penélope Cruz is very apparent in this snap that shows of her killer body and undeniable gorgeousness.

Scarlett Johansson SuitScarlett Johansson is buxom and businesslike in this outfit, which gives her the look of a sultry secretary.

And with all these beautiful women for the guys, I had to include a photo of a handsome guy for the ladies out there. Prepare to drool my blogging sisters. I’m feeling generous again ladies so here’s another guy to fight over in all his masculine glory. In case any of you are wondering who it is, I believe his name is David Gandy, a male model who from what I’ve heard sends the pulses of women racing everywhere.

Film Title

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Director

Alexander Witt

Starring

  • Milla Jovovich as Alice
  • Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine
  • Oded Fehr as Carlos Olivera
  • Thomas Kretschmann as Timothy Cain
  • Jared Harris as Dr Charles Ashford
  • Mike Epps as L.J.

Like its predecessor, Resident Evil: Apocalypse is not a film of originality, character development or thought provocation. What it succeeds on is its non-stop action, fierce battles and Milla Jovovich back as the vengeful, kick ass Alice. It is for lack of a better word, a great popcorn movie.  Resident Evil Apocalypse Zombies

Days after the infection of the Hive, the Umbrella Corporation decides to send in a research team. As soon as it is opened, the many ravenous zombies inside escape, killing the crew and beginning to spreading disease round Racoon City. The city is turned into a death-riddled necropolis as a result. Alice, the heroine from the previous venture, has survived as well. After being captured by the corrupt Umbrella Corporation, she was experimented on, giving her superhuman reflexes and agility. She finds the city empty and arms herself. After an outbreak of disease at the only point of reaching safety is released, Umbrella forces the citizens to fend for themselves as they have a plan of their own. Banding together with tough Jill Valentine and renegade Umbrella soldier Carlos, they attempt to survive the ensuring carnage and bring down the corrupt Umbrella. Meanwhile, they must also rescue a young girl, who is the daughter of a prominent worker of Umbrella who is starting to rebel. Prepare for shoot-em-up battles, fierce babes and kinetic editing, as the race for survival swings into motion.

Resident Evil Apocalypse AliceOn the negative side, the pacing could have been handled a little better in comparison with the last movie. The action also takes a little too long to start, but when it begins, it really delivers. Also, the main villain of the film, Timothy Cain is not really used well enough to make him appear evil. When the film hits the action heights, the positives come thick and fast. Firstly, we have Milla Jovovich back as the warrior Alice, now better equipped and capable of almost anything. Sienna Guillory adds to the kick-ass females as the highly skilled Jill, who reluctantly teams with Alice despite initial misgivings. Oded Fehr makes his character more interesting than he could have been and Mike Epps adds comic relief as the wise-cracking L.J. In a small role, Jared Harris is the scientist who helps guide this band of survivors through dangerous ground, corruption and ravenous carnage.

The battle scenes are well-executed and very much in touch with the video game roots of the series. SpeciaResident Evil Apocalypse Carlos and Alicel effects are cleverly used on the zombies and a particularly creepy monster, with a personal link to Alice. Although not as visually impressive as the first one, many scenes stick in the memory. This includes a particularly eerie hideout scene in a church with zombies attempting entry and genetically modified creatures stalking the walls. Also, Alice being targeted by soldiers and running through a highly armed compound as her flexible moves evade the guards.

For bullet-ridden, blood soaked action/horror, you can’t go wrong with this offering from first time director Alexander Witt . It may not be my favourite, but it’s still an action packed, unadulterated way to spend a few hours.

Film Title

Resident Evil

Director

Paul W. S. Anderson

Cast

  • Milla Jovovich as Alice
  • Michelle Rodriguez as Rain
  • Eric Mabius as Matt
  • James Purefoy as Spence
  • Martin Crewes as Kaplan
  • Colin Salmon as One

If you’re looking for a film with enduring substance, Resident Evil is not the film for you. But if you crave a popcorn movie with action aplenty, bloody combat and a kick ass heroine, it may be the film you have been looking for. Although far from perfect, Resident Evil delivers on the sci-fi action/horror front with rapid editing, inventive methods of death and a ghoulish score by Marco Beltrami and goth rocker Marilyn Manson that keeps suspense ever-present.

Resident Evil AliceThe plot revolves around a genetic research facility called The Hive situated under Racoon City, which is owned by the mysterious Umbrella Corporation. In the labs, a strain of bacteria called the T-Virus is released into the air by a thief causing the airtight security to be breached. In response, The Red Queen, an artificial intelligence system seals all of the doors and kills everybody inside. Not long after this, a young women named Alice wakes up suffering from amnesia in a mansion that conceals The Hive. She is shortly after joined by a band of commandos who work with the corporation, who inform her of what happened underground. Still recovering from amnesia, Alice joins them as they travel underground to find out why The Red Queen shut down the secret labs. But what awaits them is not so easy, as the workers who were killed are not really dead. They have now become ravenous zombies who infect others by biting, thResident Evil Alice and Raine victims of this will eventually succumb to the primal need to feed. If that wasn’t enough, they must also battle the malicious security system intent on their demise.

I figured I would get the negatives out the way first before commenting on the positive notes. Although thrilling in parts, the characters are not really an interesting bunch except Alice, who becomes a capable kick-ass heroine and Rain, the sarcastic commando. The other characters serve only the purpose in progressively brutal ways, if they had been fleshed out more it would have sustained interest. This isn’t helped by the screenplay that relegates dialogue to the background and doesn’t allow us to understand the characters. Although the frenetic editing does sometimes add to the overall life or death situation, it eventually becomes stale through overuse.

Resident Evil Zombie AttackNow on to the positive things in the movie. Paul W. S. Anderson manages to generate suspense through his choice of lighting and set design, as well as some gruesome effects including rabid Doberman’s with the insatiable need to kill. The ghostly atmosphere is further heightened by Marco Beltrami and Marilyn Manson’s eerie score, that keeps the hairs standing up on the back of your neck as the horror gets more brutal. The action sequences are inventive and pulse pounding to say the least; the best example when the remaining characters have to carefully walk along elevated pipes whilst ravenous zombies to attempt to clamber up in search of  their next meal. From an acting point of view, the two people to watch are Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez who both create capable heroines. Jovovich emits a silent sullen quality as she regains her memory and boy does she kick ass when she gets in touch with her tough inner strength. Michelle Rodriguez ably follows this act as the no-nonsense Rain, who still retains her humour even after facing the knowledge she will become one of the zombies after being infected.

So all in all, Resident Evil is derivative and not particularly original. But it does deliver on the action front and creates a sexy heroine who you don’t want to mess with. It won’t make for dramatic and thought-provoking viewing, but it does make a good popcorn movie.
