It’s been a while since my last post of this nature and I wanted to resurrect it again. So I’m now asking which performance by the excellent Keira Knightley performance? With her maturity, splendidly high cheekbones and well spoken voice, Knightley has been on our screens for what feels like forever. And she’s still really young and clearly has decades worth of performances to give. Often seen as a period drama queen, I believe Keira Knightley can easily be wonderful in contemporary fare. I mean she’s sensational in period dramas but I believe it can cloud the rest of her catalogue. So which performance by this lovely actress is your favourite?

Excellent choice. I love how she’s aggressive and assertive, but you can see she’s hurting underneath. And her fate is so haunting.

I know that movie is usually slated but I quite liked it. Was fun seeing her as a total bad ass.

I always loved her as Elizabeth in the Pirates movies, but I also liked her as Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice

Funny how two of her best roles share the same name.

I quite like her in Laggies and even Last Night. Quite enjoy her less mainstream roles. But Domino is awesome. And I love her as Lizzy

Not seen Laggies. But really liked her mature work in Last Night. So underrated.

I have to say King Arthur (2004), because she was so different in that film. They had to digitally enhance her boobs because she was thought to be too flat-chested for the part. It was unusual to see her in an ‘action’ role then, and she didn’t have to do too much acting.
Cheers, Pete.

Yes she’s pretty different in that film and that’s why I like it.

An early film that showed her promise.

The Imitation Game or Atonement. I saw her recently in The Aftermath. I didn’t enjoy the film but you could see how talented she is.

I usually can’t stand period dramas, but the ones I’ve really enjoyed have been ones she’s starred in. I watched The Aftermath this week and she was brilliant in it ❤

Really? As I always say, it’s good to have diversity in opinions. Saves everything being boring.

she always has. But it doesn’t stop me from seeing a movie she is in if there are others I like or want to see. But I find her a terrible actress doing the same type of role as that’s all she can pull off and her look only fits period pieces best. I’ve had people tell me she is very nice and I’m sure that’s true as well..I don’t dislike her personally as I don’t know nor ever met her, though I had an opportunity to interview her once. I just dislike her acting.

I’d say so too. She really came into her own there.

She is one of my least favourite actresses but she was bearable in Begin Again.

oh so many but I have to say the subtlety she brought to Atonement was really amazing. She always feels so human and real
