I’ve always been a lover of crime shows and those of a procedural nature. When I was in high school, I religiously watched NCIS and CSI. Recently, I’ve seen quite a bit of Law and Order and it’s many spin off. It appears that there’s no stopping the success of such shows. But do you have any love for them?
I’m not so fond of those US series, but have a lot of time for British cop dramas like the excellent ‘Line Of Duty’, ‘Between The Lines’, and ‘Happy Valley’.
Cheers, Pete.

I’m not so familiar with Between the Lines.

It’s older, and still features the police internal investigators. But it had a good cast.

I tend to prefer the more gimmicky ones that probably have very little to do with real procedures. So things like Castle work for me quite well and I also enjoyed Bones.

Bones is a very good show that entertains.

I used to love the old CIS when Grissam (William Peterson) was in charge, it was quite ground breaking at the time, but I lost interest when it all changed, and never bothered with the spin offs. Not that keen on police/crime series on the whole so haven’t seen those that Pete mentioned.

Yeah CSI was great. Big fan of original Law and Order too. I’ve been on a real Columbo kick too.

I was a fan of Vincent D’Onofrio and his in-your-face pedantic weirdness on Criminal Intent

I do enjoy police and detective shows, but I’m with Pete. I like the British shows better. I loved Broadchurch and Endeavor and a few others. Thanks goodness for Netflix and Prime. I was a fan of the original Law and Order but I think all the spin offs got out of control.

I have a love/hate relationship with them… The market just got SO SATURATED with them! How many different versions of CSI and Law and Order do we need?? On top of that there was “Castle”, the new show “the Rookie”, “Blue Bloods”, Rookie Blue… On top of there being a million of these shows NOW THEY ALL HAVE SIMILAR NAMES! 😅😂
But…. Yes. I still seem to love a lot of Them, for some unknown reason…

I grew sick of the seemingly endless Law and Orders and CSI’s, but I still tend to gravitate to the more quirky ones. I loved Castle and Bones and I’m still mourning their demise. Right now all I’m watching in the genre is Lethal Weapon, and Criminal Minds. I’m also watching The Rookie, but that’s mainly because it has Nathan Fillion in it. I’m still undecided if I like the actual show enough to stick with it.

I’ve been recommended Castle so many times. And Bones featured some excellent episodes. I only in the last few years started watching Criminal Minds and I love it. Even if it is incredibly disturbing.

The original CSI, CSI: NY, Law and Order: SVU. I had to stop watching Criminal Minds because I would have horrible nightmares. My parents love Blue Bloods. And Castle was amazing. I need to watch The Rookie – Mainly for Nathan Fillion, but I love the stuff!

I’m a CSI fan. I’ll agree, what I’ve seen of Criminal Minds has been very disturbing but entertaining.
