With the Winter Olympics currently in swing, I thought I’d ask a movie question to do with the Olympics on screen. So which movies set around the Olympics and to do with sports pertaining to it? I have an inkling this post will garner some fine responses.

Easy answer from me on this one. None! 🙂
Though Leni Riefenstahl’s documentary ‘Olympia’ is beautifully made, and the Nazi background makes it historically interesting. So that’s my non-fiction choice.

Chariots is a total classic, especially for that music. Cool Runnings is one I love too.

Well…this is a very easy question for me to answer, and a very short answer as well: none. I just don’t like sports, and as such I pretty much avoid watching films that are sports related. Sorry Vinnieh 🙈🙈

Each to their own. I’m not the biggest sports lover either.

Got to be Cool Runnings, eh? And for a not so sporty choice I’d say Munich.

I can’t really say as I don’t think I, Tonya as an Olympic film. While I do like Eddie the Eagle and Cool Runnings, I’m not fond of the Olympics these days as I’ve become quite sour on it. Especially the corruption within the IOC and the fact that several athletes in lesser-known sports are being forced to pay their own money to travel and yet still have debts that they’re not likely to cover.

I think I Tonya could qualify as its to do with figure skating. I haven’t seen it yet but want to. I’m not the biggest lover of sports but the Olympics can be good at times.

I really enjoyed The Cutting Edge. The actors had good chemistry and it was fun to see the guy go from hockey to ice skating, and the struggle that goes with training for the Olympics.

This isn’t a Winter Olympics one but “Prefontaine” is excellent with a young Jared Leto :)))))

Leni Riefenstahl’s ‘Olympia’ (1938), is an excellent, yet notorious, piece of Cinematic reality show.
By the way, what happened to your “Buns” site???
