The Golden Age of Hollywood is attributed mainly to the late 1920’s to the early 1960’s. This was the era of glamour, big budget film making and more stars than in heaven. Today, I’m curious to know your favourite stars from this bygone time of cinematic excellence. I have many, but will list a few because if I listed them all the post would be never ending.

Paul Newman

Audrey Hepburn
So now I’ve shared some of mine, which stars from the Golden Age are the ones you love?

There are so many stars aren’t there. I love Judy Garland, she could sing, act and dance. The name Alice Faye isn’t familiar to me.

Maybe not, and I like porn as much as the next guy, I suppose. I’m lucky though. I have an unending supply sitting right next to me. I did my playin’ around and experimenting years ago. I’m happy as can be with what I’ve had the last 25 years. 😃

I love Vivien Leigh, Gene Tierney and Veronica Lane. These three ladies were somewhat troubled (in their private lives) to some extent, but they were also passionate, provoking, irresistible and super-mysterious both in life and in film.

I was aware of the private struggles of the first two ladies, but not of Veronica Lake. Whatever troubles they had, they sure knew how to command the screen.

Al Pacino used to be my alltime favorite actor. He has made some incredible movies. It’s all the more sad that lately he has been playing in so many awful movies. I really miss the old days. Two other favorites are Natalie Wood (awesome in Westside Story), and Paul Newman. He also starred in so many of my favorite movies 😊

Al Pacino, despite his recent run of bad movies, at least has countless great performances to ensure his status as a star. I must see more Natalie Wood movies. And Paul Newman, now that’s what you call an icon.

This was certainly a fun post, especially with all of the comments and choices offered. I liked you list and so many others and agree with 95% of those mentioned as my top stars, as well. A few more names to add, although they were toward the later part of the Golden Yeas: Robert Duval, James Earl Jones, Michael Caine, John Wayne (more versatile than given credit for). Your movie list of must sees is good…hard to believe you haven’t seen Casablanca! I noticed on your profile photo of the little boy with the Statue of Liberty behind him…assume he was an immigrant. My mom was a war bride and was checked in at Ellis Island at the end of WWII. Thanks for the follow, too!
