I’m asking this question because I’ve noticed that I seem to be pretty adept when talking about erotic aspects of movies. I did write an erotic piece ages ago and that surprisingly had a good reception. I wanted to put the question to all of you to see what you thought. Would you mind if I wrote erotic stories on here? Of would it distract from my movie reviews? Whatever your take, please give it.

There is a big market for erotic fiction, V. But depending how far you go, you may well have to change your ‘rating’ with WordPress. Why not try your hand at an erotic book instead? It must have earned a mint for ’50 Shades’…

Whatever interests you, write about it. As a ghost writer of some paranormal/supernatural romances, I’ve dabbled in the erotic too. It’s a very popular sub-genre. I think if you apply some storytelling you’ve absorbed from all the great movies you’ve seen, you can rise above the cliches. Erotica can still have characters that matter and a plot, right 😉 Your readers may appreciate this approach. Plus, this way you can have fun but it may also turn into something viable (ie: one day, compiling your online stories into a book collection and selling it).
I think your site shouldn’t be confined to movies. It should be confined to your interests. Whatever they are, share them. I can tell from some of your writing, that you could actually develop your craft more while also just having fun.

I recently collaborated on a Swedish crime thriller with erotic sequences too (so not all YA audience like paranormal stuff is). While romance is not a genre I read, my clients were rather satisfied with what they commissioned from me.

After reading samples, if you had questions about the behind the scenes process, I could help there.
For most interested writers, the largest hurdle is the intimidation of the blank page. Never look at it. Go on a walk. Watch something in the same genre you intend to write for inspiration. But never think about what you DON’T have written. Only think about the process.
It’s easier to build the motivation and dedication to the craft if you set it up so you always know what you’re writing tomorrow. Another tip, finish your day’s writing in the middle of your scene/chapter. You can think about what to write while you’re away from the page since you know exactly where you are. When you sit down to write, it should flow better.
Always start with the outline and fill in the blanks with new ideas. When you write the actual pages, you’ll just plug and play (in effect). That’s how I’m able to write a chapter for a book, pages for a movie, outlining a couple projects every day.
I hope these small general inspiration tips help.

Treat others how you want to be treated. It’s no problem. Time permitting, I sincerely will help you (if I can) develop your writing. You’re young enough to really take off with this. I’d create a penname for erotica, in case you want to write movies/fiction in future, as some may look down at the genre (and I don’t mean down as in ‘cuz their other hand is busy hehehe). Us writers have to look out for each other.

You should write what you want realizing you are fulfilling your own creative efforts which won’t satisfy everyone. While I’ll probably pass on them, there are many others who will enjoy that randy side of you. I hope you won’t be insulted, but you remind me of Austin Powers. With better teeth.

I love erotica writing if it is kept clean in the sense that it is very subtle to what they hint at. To me that is erotica. I owned an erotica site on wordpress last year and had fun with it but I carried to many sites on here and had to let a couple go. Your site my friend you do with what you want with it. If you lose people there will be new people to take their place.

It is just an image you put in the left hand side of your site. It is just a warning to others that the content is for mature audiences.

You go to your customizer feature on the right hand side bottom of your screen or wherever it is and click on that. It should have a primary bar feature which you click on that as you only have one sidebar. At the bottom there is a widget feature which you press on that will open up a column on the write go to image and click on that. Again that will open a window. Find image URL and insert the jpg link I gave you into there. That will show the image in your left hand column. You can click and drag this image to the top where you want it. Don’t forget to save and publish everytime it appears. You are good to go

I assume you mean literotica, not just porn…
I recently learned there is website called Literotica, but I am referring to the genre.
Long before E.L. James got rich, it was more of an aspiration than a genre; the idea of writing GOOD stories, well written, that were also erotic.
If you aspire to write, you should wrote about something that you know thoroughly…
So plan on doing A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH…(consider it a labor of love.)
Some people are uncomfortable about being associated with erotica.
Ann Rice wrote under a pseudonym when she wrote the Sleeping Beaty series before she became famous.
It’s only my opinion, but this is a great community here at WordPress, almost like a virtual writers colony, and unless you have employers or relatives of whom you fear reproach, I say just do it.
It allows those of us who read your reviews to get a glimpse of another aspect of your talents.
Either way, we’ll be looking for you.

If you want to write erotica on your blog then you go ahead buddy. My only suggestion would be is that for a lot of people something personal can’t help but come through in your writing even when you’re creating worlds, experiences or characters very different from your own. There’s nothing more personal than sex. So my suggestion would be maybe to clearly point out that these stories that have nothing to do with your life or write under an alias. At least until you’ve found your feet in the genre. When I wrote my short story last year Birth Days, I wrote a fairly straight forward sex scene but I cringed wondering how people would take it. Erotica is whole other level because the sex is the point of the story and what it says about us humans. Just another opinon.
