I recalled the other day that my last post on movie nudity got a lot of attention and interesting opinions. So I decided it would be good to delve into the subject of cinematic nudity once. This time around, I’m asking which actors and actresses appear to strip off a lot in their movies? If I had a body like some of the top stars, I’m sure I’d be fine getting naked on screen. But I digress, I will now mention the stars that in my opinion, seem very comfortable in taking it off for the screen.
Ewan McGregor:
This guy appears very at ease with his body and is more than willing to be seen on celluloid in the buff.
Julianne Moore:
The beautiful and hugely talented Miss Moore is also comfortable on doing nude scenes with a tastefulness and honesty.
Kate Winslet:
Elegance, supreme acting chops and confidence fill Kate Winslet, who has done many a nude scene and had no difficulty shedding clothes for the camera.
Matthew McConaughey:
I’ll admit if I had a body like this guy, I wouldn’t feel the need to wear a shirt ever. I mean just look at the guy.
Helen Mirren: 
A classy lady and marvellous actress, Helen Mirren has never shied away from going nude, only recently saying she’s retired her body from the screen.
So do you agree with my choices? Or do you think there are other stars who parade on screen in the buff.

These are good choices Vinnie. I think Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie have done quite a few nude scenes as well.

You are very right there Kim, both women have done a few nude scenes in the past. I mean as I said in the post, if we all had bodies like the stars, I’m certain we’d all be nudists!

Well most celebrities have fantastic physiques so it’s understandable. I’d be the same and occasionally I am a nudist in my home.

I know Charlotte Rampling who is well over 60 has intentionally taken roles that require nudity simply to prove that people over 50 can have sex and looked good naked. I remember seeing her in ‘Swimming Pool’ at the theaters back in 2003 in Skokie, Illinois. It was an afternoon matinee and senior discount, so a lot of old people in the theater including an 89-year-0ld woman with a walker who sat right next to me. During the course of the movie there was a lot of nudity from the film’s younger star, but to my surprise none of the old timers objected to it, but when Ms. Rampling took off her clothes near the end the lady next to me went ‘oh dear’ and a hush went over the whole group. I admit I was reluctant to see her nude too presuming at her age she wouldn’t look too good, but to my surprise she wasn’t bad. I found it funny though that the seniors reacted like the rest of us. Nudity with young good-looking people is okay, but older performers that were more their age was bad.

I’d say Helen Hunt spent her fair share of time with her shirt off. Halle Berry, maybe Angelina Jolie. It’s more difficult to think of dudes who have done it more than once.

I liked that Helen Mirren not so long ago said she didn’t see the big deal about getting naked on screen. She seemed very confident and comfortable with her body. Angelina Jolie certainly has done it a few times, mainly earlier in her career. As for Halle Berry, I recall her being topless in Swordfish.

I recall the fuss when Alan Bates and Oliver Reed wrestled naked in ‘Women in Love.’ One of the first times that men’s tackle was displayed so openly, outside of ‘Scandinavian films.’
Sylvia Kristel has spent almost her entire film career with her kit off, including the original ‘Emmanuelle.’

You’re forgetting Eva Green 😉 I think European actors don’t have as much qualms about nudity generally. Btw, Dame Mirren still looks amazing now and I remember she has such an amazing figure in Excalibur!

Yeah I think even in commercials in Europe we see more skin than in the US, esp in France. Excalibur isn’t a great movie but still worth a watch for Dame Mirren!

I hear that blonde chick in Game of Thrones gets her baps out a lot, too. So much so, my husband is now sick of them… He still loves ‘GOT’ though…and not for the nudity (so he says!)

I think Kate Winslet in Titanic was the first nude scene I ever saw. Matthew has a great body so I think no clothes is definitely something he does.

I’m not sure if all of these actors don’t have a problem getting nude for a film. They probably have a few conditions and some might still find it difficult even if they have done several nude scenes in their career. Enjoyed the post.

Yes but we see them and they see themselves are often two completely different things. I’m often shocked by how many beautiful people proclaim hang-ups about their perfect bodies. My wife included.

There’s no such thing as a perfect body. I too find it interesting when famous people talk about feeling not really attractive. Guess it goes to show that even people considered beautiful can be self conscious. I read an interview with Ewan McGregor where he was asked about going nude in movies and he said that he was doing it for all the ladies to level the nudity quota.

I’m in love with Ewan McGregor! Yes, they all seem confident with baring everything but more importantly they are all good actors so that makes a difference. I don’t recall any of them doing any gratuitous scenes (and I HATE them!)
