My deepest thanks go to Richard for nominating me for this honor. He has crafted a wonderful thing so that bloggers can learn more about each other, share information and highlight the brilliance they view. It is truly amazing that he should think of me and I’m forever grateful to him for that. And with Christmas approaching, it’s like an earlier gift and later some of this post will be in the Christmas spirit. So here is my Blog Appreciation Post.
3 facts about myself that my fellow bloggers may not know:
- I’m an Everton FC supporter.
- I’m something of a hopeless cook.
- I have no piercings to talk of.
My First Ever Post :
It feels like ages ago when I posted my review of The Godfather and kick started my blog.
My Favourite 3 Blog Posts :
I so enjoyed writing this review because the film is so personal to me and very close to my heart. I just wanted to express my love for it in the best way I know how.
Happy Birthday Monica Bellucci :
The response to this post was overwhelmingly positive and I’m super happy about that. It was wonderful to showcase the beauty and depth of Monica Bellucci and voice my opinions of her talent.
This little tribute I did to my followers for all their support was a post unlike anything I’d really done before. I just felt I needed to thank everyone for putting me in a good mood after some darkness.
My 3 Favourite Posts from Other Bloggers :
Magic Mike XXL : As written by the sassy Emma, she unashamedly writes with wit and style about fawning over the pecs and muscles of the actors in the movies. But she does it in such a way that is funny rather than sleazy. You rock Emma.
Significant Songs 94 : The evergreen Pete does another one of his splendid posts about a specific song and he deserves kudos for giving me an idea for a future post.
Happy International Friendship Day: Marvelous Kim posted this heartwarming tribute to the power of friendship and did a stellar job with her knack for using cool gifs.
Books and Films I’m Ashamed to Say I haven’t Read or Seen :
- Casablanca
- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
- Cool Hand Luke
- The English Patient
- Atonement by Ian McEwan
And now for some Christmas Questions :
- What film are you looking forward to watching over the Christmas Period? Chicken Run, what a feel good movie that always seems to be on in the month of December.
- What is top of your Christmas list? A signet ring.
- Favourite Christmas Song? Winter Wonderland.
- Favourite present you ever got? A new computer.
- Weirdest Christmas present you received from someone? A leopard thong from a friend, which was supposed to be a joke.
And now finally my 10 nominations for this honor:
I hope everyone has enjoyed this post. And if I’ve nominated you, it is fine to follow the same format as me or if you won’t choose different questions.

Thanks Vinnie! Really appreciate the consideration. Means a lot my friend.
A few things from your post:
1. Everton? No love for Arsenal? 😉
2. Wait…you’ve never seen “Casablanca”? My favorite movie of all-time! Never? Not even once? C’mon Vinnie!!!
3. That Stand By Me review is superb!

Was more than happy to nominate you Keith, you’ve been an extremely loyal follower. Well I’ll admit Arsenal are a good team. I know it’s shameful I’ve never seen Casablanca.

Thanks! 🙂
I also haven’t seen Casablanca, but that will be rectified soon as I have it LoveFilm for me and my parents to watch.
Also, Everton had a good result yesterday! I’ve got Barkley and Lukaku in my fantasy team as well. 😀

It seems we both need to watch Casablanca very soon. Barkley is an immense player as well as Lukaku. Who do you support?

Man United, and my hometown club is Leicester City. There is plenty of banter with my football friends atm.

I don’t mind a bit of football banter, as long as it is banter. I’m not one of those people that falls out with someone over football, I think that’s ridiculous.

Casablanca is a must-see but you’ll love Cold Hand Luke, Newman is spectacular.

Thanks for the mention, V. Not one of my better Significant Songs, but I’m pleased that it resonated with you.
Never seen ‘In Cold Blood’? Robert Blake is on top form in that film, and it is packed with atmosphere. He is also very good in ‘Electra Glide In Blue’, one of my unsung favourites from the 70s.
Best wishes, Pete.

The song resonated because of our discussion about a future post of mine. I was referring to the book In Cold Blood, but I’ll keep an eye out for the movie. Did you find out anything interesting about me in this post Pete?

Does Everton mean a Liverpool connection? I have never known where you are from.
And ‘no piercings to talk of’. Does that mean that you don’t want to talk about them, or that they are minor ones, like pierced ears? (I have none, as you might imagine…)

Well some of my family, mainly my Grandma’s side are originally from Liverpool. My current location is a mystery, I like to add some enigma to my image on here. I have no piercings at all Pete, though I have considered it.

Good to have a ‘secret location’. Adds to the mystery, and helps with anonymity too. Mine is in the name of the blog of course, so easy to work out!

I like to think the mystery makes my blog appear sexy. I’m not sure how effective it is though. Do you follow football Pete?

I went see Spurs at Wembley, winning the cup final against Burnley, in 1962. I have been to Spurs a few times, and Millwall (before the violent days) because I lived near their ground. I lost interest in football once I discovered girls, and got a car. By the time that they were all using foreign players, I no longer followed it at all. If asked, I still say Spurs, but couldn’t name a player. Norwich has a big following around here of course.

That’s fascinating Pete. Can’t beat a bit of football. Everton is the club I support, but I do follow Barcelona. The way they play football is sublime.

I have seen the Camp Nou stadium, it is very impressive indeed. Funnily enough, the only football shirt I have ever owned is a Real Madrid shirt, and I bought it in Barcelona. Real were a wonderful team when I was young, so I always had a bit of a thing for them.

Just for the record, I’m a Celtic FC fan and have 5 piercings and 9 tattoos. 😉

You’re a cool dude Mark. I knew you were a passionate Celtic fan from one of our discussions. 9 tattoos, wow, what designs are they? And where on your body is pierced?

Just my ears and eyebrow are pierced. No nether regions involved 😉
My tattoos are a mixture of Celtic (knot work) and Native American symbols.

Haha, you did make me laugh with the no nether regions part. I reckon that would be a painful piercing to have.
