In the cinematic world, a dream sequence can be used to show almost anything. One of the most popular ones is a memory that haunts a character through a recurring dream or a dream that predicts future events. Whatever the purpose, dream sequences have to be visually arresting in my opinion. So have a think, what is your favourite dream sequence from a movie?

I thought the dream sequence in Hitchcock’s Spellbound w/ Dali’s work is pretty memorable. Inception is certainly an awesome one as well.

The best dream sequence of all time is arguably the opening of Ingmar Bergman’s Wild Strawberries.

Tough one this as there are so many memorable ones – I am tempted to pick the ultra elaborate one in such De Palma movies as RAISING CAIN and FEMME FATALE though i love the bizarre dream involving vikings and Saddam Hussein in THE BIG LEBOWSKI

I do not know if it can really be called a ‘dream sequence’ in the strict sense of this word, but I really like the ‘montage’ in ‘Jacob’s Ladder’.

It’s hard to choose really, It’s a cross between George Baileys in It’s a Wonderful Life and the kenny Rogers video in The Big Lebowski.
