I recently got asked this question and it really got me thinking about how powerful the cinematic world can be. Movies can mae us feel all sorts of emotions and introduce us to something new that we didn’t know. So I’m writing this post to find out what movies have made an indelible mark on you as a person and as a movie goer.
Which movies have had the biggest impact on you?

Schindler’s List for me. The film made me cry really hard, and really changed the way how I analyzed movies.

Werckmeister Harmonies. No other film can actually make me cry uncontrollably. Every time I watch it, I just can’t control myself. The movie is so powerful.

Indiana Jones and The Star Wars original trilogy taught me how to dream and look beyond my own world. Those were some big heavy hitters for me.

Pan’s Labyrinth. I suffer from depression and was having a really bad spell when my friend decided to take me to cheer me up (haha!) because I’d been wanting to see it for forever. I left in tears, asking why he’d done that to me. 😉 But it was so beautiful, so full of wonder and it resonated with me. I adore it.

Star Wars, — yes — the original one. Indiana Jones too. Also 2001, Fargo, Pulp Fiction, and Elephant haunted me for a long time.

For me it will always be CITIZEN KANE – I was 13, saw it late at night and then spent the best part of an hour discussing it with my cousin – I’d never seen a film as rich and powerful as that one. I don’t really suppose you get to have your eyes opened like that that too often in your life

I like your blog too, especially posts like these as they are very thought-provoking. The movie which had the biggest impact on me was probably ‘Fight Club’.

It got to be Across The Universe (Julie Taymor) and Lawrence of Arabia (David Lean)

It’s a tie between Kurosawa’s Rashomon and George A. Romero’s original Dawn of the Dead. Both showed me that film can do more than entertain.

High Tension. It was after that movie I decided to start pursuing screenwriting. Loved the atmosphere Aja created. Loved the directing. The pacing. The acting. The suspense. The tension. Was just brilliant!

Begin Again- Made me realize it is never to late to start something new
A Blind Side- Even in the fierceness of the protagonist there was something tender which most of the people around her failed to notice it
The Theory of everything – True love is stronger than anything else
Lion- Adoption is equally more powerful like own children. Made me even more compassionate to the children of lesser god
