Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last fifty years, you will have least heard of the James Bond movies. One aspect of them that I always enjoy is the music and especially the title song. Over the years there has been a vast array of different singers who have sung the Bond songs, from crooner Matt Monro to pop star Madonna. So have a thing out of the many songs, which one do you like the most or do you think just epitomizes the Bond series?
What is your favourite song from a James Bond movie?

I like that one from Goldfinger. It’s kind of cheesy, but for some reason I really like it. Plus, Goldfinger is my favorite Bond film too.

My favorite song would be Nobody Does It Better from The Spy Who Loved Me. The iconic score with the trumpets playing the Bond theme is, of course, terrific.

Thanks, I always think the title for that song summarises Bond himself.

Casino Royale was the first Bond film I watched in a cinema, so You Know My Name is sealed as my favourite Bond tune 🙂

Gotta be “Nobody Does it Better”. All I have to hear is that opening piano riff, and I get chills. 😀

Most of the themes from James Bond films are enjoyable and I am fortunate to possess a composite CD of the soundtrack themes from the earlier films, however my favourite film and theme is “From Russia With Love” as sung by Matt Munro over the closing credits.
I was around for the cinema release of the first JB film, “Dr.No” and was aware of the interest that the film aroused, however it was not until “Goldfinger” that the franchise “took off”. So far, my wife and I have visited the cinema to see all but one, and we caught up with that elusive one on TV, some time ago.

Live and Let Die is a class song and entirely appropriate for the film. I’d also go for We have all the Time in the World (from On her Majesty’s Secret Service) and You Only Live Twice – in fact, the latter is one of my favourite Bond scores, with its Far East atmosphere.
Oh yes, and The Living Daylights of the more ‘modern’ songs – another brilliant score also, Barry’s last, and an incredibly thrilling accompaniment to the action.

Well dang, have I been living under a rock? I can’t think of one Bond song and I know I’ve seen most of the movies. I need to have a Bond movie marathon to correct this problem.

‘Goldfinger’ is the most obviously ‘Bondian’ with its over-the-top brass and sheer Shirley Bassey-ness. In terms of actually good songs that stand up, has to be We Have All the Time in the World’ from OHMSS and ‘Nobody Does It Better’ from The Spy Who Loved Me – they are the only ones that have become known as songs on their own right really, and rightfully so in my view. ‘You Only Live Twice’ would be the runner up for me … I hope you are going to tabulate the rsults for us Vinnie!

“Goldfinger”, “Live and Let Die” “Nobody Does It Better”. And in terms of more grittiness vocals and rocking tune for example on a run– “You Know My Name”. And for a little more of downtime, lowering your nerves and getting a bit sentimental– “Skyfall”

Yeah. I would also have to mention “Another Way To Die” just because it’s a duet– Jack White and Alicia Keys. But as I mentioned before the others are the top of my Bond themes!
